What is MarketMaxx?
It's an online game that lets you practice your skills at marketing corn and soybeans without risk. You can't lose, but you can win any of several valuable prizes including a year's use of a Gleaner combine or Agco tractor, or other great prizes from Syngenta Crop Protection.
What am I marketing?
We give you a simulated volume of 100,000 bushels of corn and 50,000 bushels of soybeans to trade with at the time you register. You play with this volume of corn and soybeans throughout the game January 3, 2007, through October 31, 2007. How and when you sell them is up to you. If you achieve the highest average selling price (or rank second or third) for corn or for soybeans, you win one of several prizes including a combine, tractor, or a computer systems provided by Syngenta Crop Protection.
How do I play?
You start
by registering to play the MarketMaxx game. There is
no charge. All you do is click here
and register to play. All of the rules are explained here, plus there is a library giving you tips on how to market grain. You
will also learn how to make trades online.
How do I know where I rank compared with
everyone else?
Game
trading doesn't start until January 3, 2007, but when it does you can go to MarketMaxx.net at any time and see what your average selling
price is and how it compares with the farmers who are in the lead for corn and
for soybeans. Remember, there are separate contests and prizes for corn and
soybeans. Your average selling price will be the price of corn and soybeans
that day until you begin trading.
Can I buy and sell futures contracts?
Yes, but
you can never hold more than a simulated 100,000 bushels of corn or 50,000
bushels or soybeans.
What do I have to lose?
Nothing. It's free. You can win prizes and gain valuable
knowledge about how to market grain at no cost to you. Even if you don't plan
to market your grain yourself, MarketMaxx will give
you the knowledge you need to understand what the pros are talking about.
The only
was you can lose is if you don't click
here and register to play.
